Ambulances should enter via Harwood Road entrance and proceed to the playing fields. This is the main vehicle access point to reach all pitches.

Emergency Procedures

STOP Play Immediately
Ensure the safety of all players. Stop the game and move players away from the injured person.

ASSESS the Situation
Check for danger. Assess the casualty - are they responsive? Breathing? Any obvious injuries?

CALL for Help
If serious, call 999 immediately. Provide location, nature of injury, age of casualty, and your callback number.

TREAT if Trained
Only provide first aid if you are trained. Keep the casualty calm and still. Do not move if spinal injury suspected.

DELEGATE Tasks
Send someone to meet the ambulance. Assign another adult to supervise other players. Contact parents if needed.

RECORD & REPORT
Complete an accident report form. Notify the Club Welfare Officer. Report serious injuries to the FA via the Whole Game System.

Important Reminders

  • All coaches should have access to a charged mobile phone
  • Know the location of the nearest AED (defibrillator)
  • Ensure at least one first aid trained person is present at all sessions
  • Review player medical information before each session
  • Never leave an injured player unattended
  • Parents/guardians must be informed of any injury, however minor
  • Head injuries require mandatory concussion protocol - IF IN DOUBT, SIT THEM OUT
